The Seymchan meteorite is classified as a pallasite, first found in 1967 in Magadanskaya oblast', Russia. This area is very remote and many times can only be reached by helicopter. The seymchan has many pieces that are all pallasite. Then it has many areas that only show the iron, sometimes called a siderite. There are also many pieces that are transitional, which show varying amounts of iron mixed with olivine. They Seymchan meteorites have a very good reputation for being stable. As with all meteorites the Seymchan has been getting harder and harder to get in the past few years and this is driving the price up and up.
